About Boitumelo Thulo
Award winning musician, actress, TV host, entrepreneur & social media giant Boitumelo 'Boity' Thulo, is one of the most recognizable stars in South Africa. Boity received her education at Monash University where she studied a double major in psychology and criminology. Since then, she has deeply entrenched herself into not only building herself up as a brand, but also aligned with global brands such as Huawei, Moet & Chandon. Ms Thulo is earning her stripes in the entrepreneural/business space where she has partnered with Halo Heritage and has created her own Eau De Parfum, Pink Sapphire as well as her own Boity Hair Care range for natural hair, which has taken the market by storm & can be found across the country but also in Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and Swaziland. In addition, Boity is also the co-founder and co-creator of her own RTD beverage, sparkling frizzante BT Signature offered in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic variants. Thulo recently received her certificate as a Forbes 30 Under 30 alumni and is currently signed to Def Jam Boity released her first single "Wuz Dat", featuring South African rapper, Nasty C. The song became the first ever single by a female rapper in South Africa to be certified Platinum and this making it the best selling single of all time by a female rapper in that country respectively. "Wuz Dat" won the category of "Best Collaboration" at the 2018 South African Hip-Hop Awards; making her the first lead female rapper to achieve such. The EP 4436 was released in late 2020, which took the country by storm. It featured trail blazers such as Riky Rick, Yanga Chief & Maggz. 4436 was nominated in the 2021 South African Music Awards for Best Hip Hop Album. In 2020, "Own Your Throne", the popular & widely watched reality TV show, starring Ms Thulo, took to our screens. It showcased the star's busy daily life, family dynamics, international travel & her journey with ancestry. It truly gave viewers a front row seat into Boity's world & gave her fans a better understanding of her.
