About Vikram Dendi
Vikram is the Chief Product Officer for Microsoft's AI+R New Experiences and Technologies organization and acts as Technical Advisor to the head of NExT. He manages the Growth & Strategy, Product Management, Design, Engineering Quality & Compliance teams for NExT (including for Microsoft Healthcare NExT). Vikram's recent startup work at Microsoft involved transforming research technologies like machine translation into high value developer and user experiences. He was responsible for shaping the product direction and business strategy for Microsoft’s translation platform, which is used by most major Microsoft products, including Bing, Office and Windows, as well as many partner products (Facebook, eBay, Twitter, etc.). Over the course of his tenure at Microsoft, he contributed to a number of other new product efforts in a variety of areas including Maps, Location Based Services, Phone and Emerging Markets. Vikram's resume at Microsoft includes stints in multiple planning, product management and business strategy roles across a wide range of teams and technologies - Location Based Services, Phone & Consumer Mobile and Emerging Markets. Prior to joining Microsoft, Vikram was responsible for designing, building and shipping award winning consumer products for the Mac and Linux platforms at Real Networks and played a key role in establishing the open source strategy for the company. Vikram also enjoyed earlier stints at an innovation laboratory and did research work in social & human computing. He graduated with honors from California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and started his first company while an Entrepreneurial Fellow in the NSF sponsored three institution (Caltech, Art Center & UCLA Anderson) program. Combining over a decade of extensive strategy experience with deep technical and design background, Vikram brings a unique perspective to any business.
