About Helena Kent
Helena Kent is a M.Des. candidate at UC Berkeley in the College of Engineering and the College of Environmental Design. She was awarded the Bay Area National Science Foundation Innovation Corps Award, the Distinguished Scholar Award in UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering, the Most Innovative Award from UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, and is on the Dean's List. She is a Graduate Student Researcher in the UC Berkeley EECS department where her research includes Human Computer Interaction, Human-Centered AI, and XR Development. Prior to her graduate studies, Helena was a student researcher at NASA Ames Research Center and a founding member of a startup partnered with the United Nations focused on achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Most recently, Helena co-founded a semiconductor startup at Berkeley SkyDeck, and she currently leads the Space Earth and Ocean Exploration (SEOE) Design Lab organization at UC Berkeley’s Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation in the College of Engineering.
