About Sophia Hwang
I am committed to conducting research that identifies academic and social-emotional inequities, informs intervention development, and transforms educational and community settings to better serve the students and educators therein. As a former public school teacher, I stand at the intersection of community psychology, human development, and education science and focus on positive youth development in context. I pursue this research agenda using quasi-experimental, qualitative, and community-based research methods.
