About Dan Leopold
Research scientist and clinician with expertise in psychological assessment, data modeling, construct development, and both brain-based and behavioral models of development | Clinical psychologist and educational neuroscientist | Passionate about enabling others’ wellbeing and curiosity, easily immersed in domain knowledge, and quick to learn new analytic tools. I am a licensed psychologist and research scientist in the University of Colorado Boulder’s Institute of Cognitive Science. I study the brain-based and behavioral development of children and teens with learning differences, such as dyslexia and ADHD, as well as the use of multimodal data collection to improve psychological, social, and educational outcomes. Through my research and clinical work, I aim to improve others' wellbeing and passion for learning, our ability to redress knowledge gaps and inequities in both education and mental health, and measurement-based resource allocation. My analytic background consists of data management and analysis (Python, R, SPSS), cross-sectional, longitudinal, and invariance testing using Structural Equation Modeling (Mplus), structural and functional neuroimaging (Bash Linux, FSL, FreeSurfer), and machine learning applications (Python).
