About Danielle Albers Szafir
My lab is currently recruiting Ph.D. students and post-doctoral researchers. See http://cmci.colorado.edu/visualab for more information. I am a member of the founding faculty of the Department of Information Science in the College of Media, Communication, and Information. My work focuses on expanding our knowledge of perception to drive visualization design and visual computing applications, in particular exploring mechanisms and techniques to support visual comparisons of large, complex data with a special focus on enhancing the scalability and interpretability of visual displays. I have worked with collaborators in a number of fields including perceptual psychology, the biological sciences, and the humanities to develop visualization solutions for understanding and analyzing diverse datasets. I hold a courtesy appointment in the Department of Computer Science and am a Fellow in the Institute of Cognitive Science and the ATLAS Institute.
