About Norma I. Scagnoli

As the Vice Provost of Learning Innovation at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), I lead the Center for Learning Innovation and oversee the development and delivery of new online programs. In the past nine months, I have launched three master's degrees and a bachelor's completion program in partnership with Coursera, reaching thousands learners across the globe. My mission is to create engaging and effective online learning experiences that align with the needs and aspirations of lifelong learners. With over 20 years of experience in online education, I have developed a range of skills and competencies that enable me to design, implement, and evaluate online learning initiatives. I have expertise in instructional design, data storytelling, virtual work, and stackable content and credentials. I also have certifications in change management, disruptive strategy, and breakthrough models, which help me navigate the evolving landscape of online learning. Additionally, I have a strong academic background, with a PhD in Human Resource Development and a Master's degree in Education, and multiple publications and presentations in the field of online learning. I am passionate about educational innovation and committed to advancing the field through research and practice.
