Judy Cheptoo has served as the General Manager for Kenya Water Projects at Untapped Global since 2020. In this role, she has been instrumental in streamlining the Community Water ATMs project. Her efforts included organizational restructuring, redefining the business model, and aligning the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). This project received recognition as one of the top 100 projects in the Energy Globe Award 2021.
Previous Experience
Before joining Untapped Global, Judy Cheptoo worked at Impact Water as a Business Development and Customer Success Manager from 2017 to 2020. She also held a position at AccessKenya Group Limited in Marketing & Communications for a brief period in 2015. Additionally, she worked as an Online Sub-editor for Standard Group PLC in 2016, focusing on social media.
Education and Expertise
Judy Cheptoo earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Psychology from Daystar University. She studied there from 2011 to 2015. Her educational background supports her expertise in communication and stakeholder engagement within the water and sanitation sector.

Judy Cheptoo has spearheaded significant projects aimed at providing safe water solutions to over 10,000 Kenyan schools, positively impacting more than 4 million school-going children. Her initiatives have focused on reducing carbon emissions through the implementation of chlorine-based solutions.
Entrepreneurial Ventures
In addition to her role at Untapped Global, Judy Cheptoo co-founded Ubuntu WaterHub Africa in 2022, where she serves as the Head of Business. She is also involved in a pay-go products business that aims to enhance data management and revenue collection in the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector, targeting 500 sites by December 2026.
