She also served as a Substitute Teacher and Cinematographer at Srijana Higher Secondary School For the Deaf from 2010 to 2011, and as a Caregiver, Tutor, and Translator at Santhi School For the Deaf from 2008 to 2009. Currently, she is also an Independent Filmmaker in Colorado, United States.

Kate Tygielski received her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Harvard University, where she studied from 2006 to 2011. Prior to this, she attended the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics from 2004 to 2006.
