About Isabel Alvarez Arata
An animal lover as long as I can remember, I got my start in the pet industry as Founder and General Manager of The Wag Pack, LLC in 2008. Since entering the industry, I have developed a profound love for and deep understanding of companion animals, namely dogs and cats, and dedicated my life to educating pet parents in the effort to improve the lives of their beloved pets. From training and behavior modification to nutrition, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for pets through my recently launched show, Covered in Pet Hair, and by continuing to educate myself and others through my pet-specific writing and appearances. When Covid-19 obliterated demand for The Wag Pack's dog walking and pet sitting services, I redirected my passion for pets to Covered in Pet Hair, a boozy web show for pet lovers, where the who's who of the pet industry share drinks, chatter, and expert tips. New episodes drop weekly on Pet Life Radio and Youtube. I am also a freelance writer for various online and print publications, former Pet Columnist for the Alexandria Times, and guest contributor to a number of pet industry trade publications.
