In more than 20 years as a trader and investment banker, I’ve grown my business units to capture record market share and profits and I’m proud to say my risk management strategies have produced zero material losses. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 I started trading at JP Morgan, where I grew from a junior derivatives trader to managing a top ranked interest rates volatility franchise as the Head of Investment Rate Options Trading. I moved to Lehman, where despite the ending of that story, I learned most of my advanced skills as the Head of US Interest Rate Options Trading. I transformed Lehman into a top player in derivatives with a remarkable team. Later I joined Nomura with the opportunity to lead their entry into the US by creating its fixed income unit and becoming pre-tax profitable in just a year. 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 ► I grew client revenues by ten fold with in 1 year at Nomura, dramatically increasing the fixed income client base that Nomura touched. ► I accelerated options revenue dramatically in 3 years at Lehman to become a top tier franchise. ► I have grown the reputation of Interest Rates businesses to be top-ranked by Greenwich surveys. ► I built infrastructure to amplify or create business lines for 3 major financial institutions. ► I recruited hundreds of front office personnel to Nomura & 25 traders/salespeople joined me at Citi. ► I transformed the culture of Nomura, Citi and Lehman to become client-focused. ► I see risk management as an incredibly valuable—perhaps underappreciated—aspect of the business and have seen no material losses that impacted operations. ✉ jeffreyalanmichaels@gmail.com
