Prior to his role at Vesta, Devon Yang worked at Blend as an Engineering Group Manager for eight years, from 2012 to 2020. He was instrumental in building the engineering team, expanding it from one to over 100 engineers. His earlier experience includes positions at Microsoft, where he worked as a Software Development Engineer II and contributed to the Microsoft Azure Fabric Controller team, and as a Software Development Engineer Intern. He also held a position as a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs and as a Junior Programmer at Wyndham Worldwide.

Devon Yang graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and a Minor in Biomedical Engineering. He also achieved a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His academic background has equipped him with expertise in fault-tolerant distributed systems, which he has applied throughout his career.
Career Development and Leadership
Devon Yang began his career by helping to launch the first version of Microsoft Azure. He was the first engineering hire at Blend, where he played a significant role in building a substantial portion of the early product. His leadership capabilities were further demonstrated as he grew into an organization leader responsible for platform architecture and development at Blend. He met co-founder Mike Yu in 2016 while working on developing a leading point of sale system.
