Prior to his current position, Igor Besschastnyy held various roles in prominent financial institutions. He worked at Gazprombank as the Head of Technology and Business Innovations Division from 2018 to 2019 and served as Executive Director for seven months in 2018. Additionally, he was employed at Sberbank of Russia OJSC from 2011 to 2018, where he progressed from Expert in the RKO department to R&D Project Manager, contributing to significant technology initiatives.
Educational Background
Igor Besschastnyy pursued higher education at several institutions. He studied at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), earning a Master’s degree in State Management from 2006 to 2009. He also attended the Higher School of Economics, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Banking and Financial Support Services from 2012 to 2015. Earlier, he studied at the Moscow State Textile University, achieving a Specialist degree in automated information processing systems from 2002 to 2006.

Igor Besschastnyy has made notable contributions to API development at VTB. His team developed a unified authentication platform and a file exchange service with partners. The Open API platform he worked on was recognized as the Best New Open Banking APIs in Russia at the Global Banking & Finance Awards in 2021, highlighting the impact of his work in the financial technology sector.
