Current Role at VTB
Vladimir Vlasov serves as the Head of the ALM Automation Department at VTB since 2021. In this role, he manages end-to-end program management responsibilities, which include budget oversight and contract negotiations. He has successfully led the transition from vendor ALM software to a fully open-source technology stack, utilizing technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Python, Java, Spring, Postgres, and Airflow. His leadership in this department has contributed to significant cost savings and improved liquidity forecast accuracy for the banking group.
Previous Experience at Sberbank
Vladimir Vlasov held several key positions at Sberbank from 2012 to 2021. He was the Head of Credit Portfolio Analytics and Provisions from 2012 to 2014, followed by a role as Senior Corporate Underwriter for four months in 2011. He then served as Deputy Chief Financial Officer from 2014 to 2016 in Yekaterinburg. After this, he led the SAP ERP Center of Excellence from 2016 to 2019 and later became the Executive Director for Data Analytics at the Financial Department until 2021.
Education and Expertise
Vladimir Vlasov has a strong educational background in economics and mathematics. He earned a Master's degree in Mathematical Methods in Economics from Ural State Technical University, completing his studies from 2004 to 2009. He furthered his education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mathematical Methods in Economics from the Russian Academy of Sciences between 2009 and 2015. Additionally, he achieved an Executive MBA from INSEAD in 2015.

Vladimir Vlasov worked at OJSC METCOMBANK from 2010 to 2011 as the Deputy Head of the Risks Department. Prior to this role, he served as a Corporate Loan Analyst from 2007 to 2010. His experience at METCOMBANK contributed to his expertise in risk management and analytics within the banking sector.
