About Benita Singh
Benita works with revolutionary retail brands, impactful artisan organizations and select visionary non-profits. Leveraging her experience as a creative supply chain founder along with her expertise in strategic communications, she supports her partners with brand strategy, the full suite of digital marketing (web, content, social, email), and wholesale business development. Benita most recently served as Chief Communications & Advocacy Officer at Nest, where she oversaw the Nest Seal of Ethical Handcraft in market and marketing partnerships with brands from Pottery Barn to Amazon Handmade. She joined Nest as the organization’s first Chief Programs Officer, in which capacity she conceived and oversaw the initial partnership between Nest, Etsy, and the Gee's Bend Quilters. Prior to Nest, she was the Founder & CEO of Le Souk, the first online B2B marketplace for textile sourcing. Benita started her career while a senior at Yale University, when she co-founded and served as the President of Mercado Global - a fair trade social enterprise connecting women artisans in Guatemala to wholesale markets in the US. Throughout her career, Benita has been named an Echoing Green Fellow, the North American Laureate by the Cartier Women’s Initiative, a Levi Strauss & Co Collaboratory Fellow and as one of the Top 10 individuals transforming retail according to LinkedIn.
