His leadership acumen, coupled with a deep understanding of market dynamics and strategic insights into corporate sustainability and impact investing, has positioned him as a thought leader on topics such as climate, impact, corporate responsibility, global standards, and regulation. As Managing Director of Corporate and Climate Solutions at Morningstar Sustainalytics, Diederik led a 300-person business unit, overseeing the delivery of Second Party Opinions (SPO), ESG Rating licenses, and Pre IPO-Ratings to corporates. Under his leadership, the Corporate Solutions Division earned many accolades, including recognition as the Best Second Party Opinion Provider for Corporate ESG Bonds in 2022. Diederik also spearheaded the establishment of a groundbreaking climate research division, driving initiatives to assess climate risks of thousands of issuers worldwide. Before the acquisition by Morningstar Inc, Diederik served as Executive Vice President & Managing Director at Sustainalytics, where he defined and implemented a commercial strategy that propelled the company to high year-over-year revenue growth. His strategic vision and leadership skills were instrumental in scaling client coverage and go-to-market models, establishing strategic partnerships, and incubating the corporate business lines.
