About Tasha Lim Yi Chien

A believer that humans are capable of great things as well as kindness. Tasha Lim is currently a Legal Associate at Messrs. Gan Partnership and works closely with Mr Foo Joon Liang in various litigation, adjudication, and arbitration matters. Prior to re-joining the legal industry, Tasha had taken a break after 2 years at Messrs. Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill (LHAG) by joining Comfort Works, an international brand of sofa savers for a little under 3 months. The exposure at Comfort Works and the people that made the place what it is has certainly opened her eyes and mind to be a better person as well as a thinker, providing her with the perspectives of a start-up and the insights of a business. Knowing that legal advice is not available to all, she has founded a blog page called 'What Law Lah?' with a team of Contributors (writers) who are determined to help our fellow aunties and uncles of Malaysia to be more legally woke. The blog has since seen a steady rise in followers and viewers. Prior to committing to LHAG, she worked as a Research Assistant for Dr Sarah Tan, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya. An Old Frees' Association scholar, Tasha graduated with a LLB (Hons.) from the University of Malaya in 2018. Throughout her four years at the Faculty of Law, Tasha was an active student member and participated in both student body activities as well as moot competition - the latter being a priority in her final two years. In her third year, Tasha represented the faculty in the 2017 Asia Cup and 2017 JESSUP Competition. In the following year, she proceeded to help train younger teams for the NAMCO 2018 Competition in which her team won Best Memorial and made it to the top 8 teams. Beyond the realms of law, Tasha co-organized two TEDxUniversityofMalaya events alongside a team of talented university students. In addition to her studies, Tasha was a freelancer during her varsity days. As of now, she continues to write articles for an English magazine known as 'Just English' to help people improve their English.
