Following this, he completed a Master of Science at the London School of Economics in the Department of Sociology from 1999 to 2001. He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Maastricht University, achieved between 2014 and 2015, and another Doctor of Philosophy from Eastern University, completed from 2019 to 2023.

Before joining the World Economic Forum, Abel Lee worked as a researcher in editorial research at Euromoney Institutional Investor from 2003 to 2004. This role provided him with foundational experience in research and analysis within the financial sector, contributing to his later success in the World Economic Forum.
