Work at World Economic Forum
Sebastian Buckup has held multiple roles at the World Economic Forum from 2010 to 2021. He served as Deputy Head of Programming and Global Leadership Fellow from 2010 to 2012, and later as Head of Programming and Director from 2012 to 2015. He continued his tenure as Head of Global Programming and Executive Committee member from 2015 to 2021. In 2021, he took on the role of Head of Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Network and Partnerships, also serving on the Executive Committee. Sebastian Buckup holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Universität Witten/Herdecke, where he studied from 2008 to 2012. He also earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) from the same institution from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, he studied at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), obtaining another M.Sc. from 2005 to 2006. Previous Work Experience
Before his extensive career at the World Economic Forum, Sebastian Buckup worked as a Research Officer at the International Labour Organization from 2006 to 2008. He also served as a Research Fellow at UNDP's Office of Development Studies for 11 months in 2005. Additionally, he was a Jury Member for the Prototype Fund from 2020 to 2021.
