Work at World Food Programme
Giorgia Pergolini has held multiple roles at the World Food Programme (WFP) since 2016. She began as a Climate Services and Communications Intern in Rome, Italy, for one year. Following this, she served as a Regional Policy and Programme Consultant for two months in Panama City in 2018. In 2021, she worked as a Climate Finance Consultant for three months in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, and later took on the role of Programme Officer - Climate Finance, which she has held since 2021 in Rome. In 2022, she was the Regional COP27 Coordinator & Climate Advisor for four months in Cairo, Egypt. Most recently, she worked as a Programme Officer - Climate Finance for one month in Dakar, Senegal.
Education and Expertise
Giorgia Pergolini has a strong educational background in sustainable development and communications. She obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Development from SOAS University of London from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, she earned a Master's Degree in International Communications with a score of 110/110 from Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi, studying from 2013 to 2015. She also completed a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistic Mediation at SSML Gregorio VII from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, she participated in a University Exchange Programme at RMIT University in 2011.

Achievements
Giorgia Pergolini has coordinated strategic engagement for the World Food Programme at six Conferences of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. She has overseen climate risk management interventions with budgets ranging from 10 to 25 million USD across more than ten countries in Africa, Asia, and Central America. Additionally, she has contributed to the development of seven proposals submitted to the Green Climate Fund and Adaptation Fund, valued at over 50 million USD, and facilitates access to multilateral climate finance resources.
