Work at World Food Programme
Zayan Slim has been employed at the World Food Programme (WFP) since 2022, initially serving as a Contact Center Representative. In 2023, Slim transitioned to the role of Enumerator, working remotely from Achrafieh, Beirut Governorate, Lebanon. In this position, Slim conducts assessments and updates related to the situation of Syrian refugee households in Lebanon. This role involves participation in significant surveys, including the Vulnerability Assessment of Syrian Refugees in Lebanon (VASyR), which is a collaborative initiative with UNHCR and UNICEF.
Education and Expertise
Zayan Slim holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biomedical Sciences from Lebanese International University, where studies were completed from 2019 to 2022. Prior to this, Slim studied General Studies at Collage Board from 2016 to 2019, achieving SAT I and SAT II qualifications. Earlier education includes General Studies at Al Jouf International School, where IGCSE qualifications were obtained from 2012 to 2016. Background
Before joining the World Food Programme, Zayan Slim gained practical experience through various internships and roles. In 2021, Slim interned at Ain Wazein Medical Village for one month. In 2022, Slim worked as an Enumerator for Bridge. Outsource. Transform (B.O.T) for one month and later served as a Reporting Officer at Healthbox for six months. These roles provided foundational experience in data collection and reporting, which are essential for current responsibilities at WFP.
Achievements in Data Collection
Zayan Slim has contributed to critical data collection efforts regarding Syrian refugees in Lebanon. This includes conducting multi-sectoral updates on refugee households and participating in the Vulnerability Assessment of Syrian Refugees in Lebanon (VASyR).
