Dr. Guzman received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Peter's University in Jersey City in 1971. He then earned his Medical Degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1975. Following this, he completed an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1980. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine (1978) and Cardiovascular Diseases (1981). Dr. Guzman joined the staff at Johns Hopkins in 1980, where he has been involved in patient care, teaching, and both clinical and basic science research. Throughout his career, he has held several significant positions such as Assistant Director of the cardiac catheterization lab and Co-director of the permanent pacemaker lab at Baltimore City Hospital. Dr. Guzman practiced medicine and interventional cardiology in South Florida for 35 years. He designed and directed the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Boca Raton Community Hospital in 1987 and served as Associate Director at North Ridge Medical Center.
