Company Overview

ABL Space Systems, headquartered at 224 Oregon St., El Segundo, CA 90245, specializes in the development of launch vehicles and supporting systems. The company focuses on providing reliable, low-cost, and highly transportable launch solutions. ABL's products are 100% American made, ensuring quality and consistency across all its offerings.

Products

ABL Space Systems offers two main products: the RS1 launch vehicle and the GS0 launch system. The RS1 is a small satellite launch vehicle capable of carrying a payload of 1,350 kg to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and 1,000 kg to Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO). It features a simple metallic fairing and is powered by additively manufactured E2 engines. The GS0 is a containerized launch system that enables rapid installation, integration, and launch from any flat concrete pad globally. It is compatible with commonly available fuels and oxidizers and supports infrastructure-light operations at various launch facilities.

RS1 Launch Vehicle

The RS1 is designed for high-capacity, cost-effective launches, carrying up to 1,350 kg to LEO and 1,000 kg to SSO. It is highly transportable, fitting into standard shipping containers for easy logistics via air, land, or sea. The RS1 is powered by 10 E2 engines—nine Sea Level engines on the first stage providing 109,000 lbf thrust, and one Vacuum engine on the second stage with 13,000 lbf in vacuum. It uses LOx and RP-1 or Jet-A fuels, available at most airfields.

GS0 Launch System

The GS0 is a containerized launch system that can be moved via land, sea, or air. It supports rapid installation and launch from any flat concrete pad, facilitating flexibility and resilience in launch operations. The system is compatible with RP-1 and Jet-A fuels and LOx oxidizers, handling a maximum gross lift-off weight of 150,000 lbm. GS0's design supports national security applications, enabling resilient missions and architectures.

Key Contracts and Initiatives

ABL Space Systems has been selected by Space Systems Command’s Assured Access to Space office for a tactically responsive launch demonstration. The contract, valued at $15 million, is part of ABL’s existing STRATFI contract. This initiative underscores ABL's capability to provide rapid and flexible launch solutions, enhancing national security and mission resilience.
