Products
Ambassador Labs offers two primary products: Edge Stack and Telepresence. Edge Stack is a Kubernetes-native API Gateway built on Envoy Proxy, designed to handle high traffic volumes, manage Kubernetes ingress, and support a wide range of protocols like HTTP/1, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, gRPC, and WebSockets. Telepresence is a tool that allows developers to connect their local development environment to a remote Kubernetes cluster, enabling real-time debugging and local testing.
Edge Stack Features
Edge Stack provides a comprehensive set of features aimed at traffic management, security, and observability. Key features include advanced security measures such as WAF, rate limiting, IP whitelisting, and automatic TLS. It supports detailed traffic management capabilities like load balancing, circuit breaking, and progressive delivery. Additionally, Edge Stack offers observability tools including metrics, logging, and distributed tracing, as well as decentralized, declarative workflows using Kubernetes CRDs. Integration with service meshes for enhanced service discovery and end-to-end TLS is also supported.
Telepresence Features
Telepresence from Ambassador Labs allows developers to use their existing local development tools and workflows while connecting to a remote Kubernetes cluster for real-time debugging and testing. Key features include personal intercepts for routing specific requests to individual developers' local environments, integration with Docker and Docker Compose, and support for multiple operating systems, including macOS, Linux, and Windows. Telepresence also offers secure preview URLs for sharing work in progress and an extended set of features built on the CNCF Telepresence project, with a 30-day free trial available for developers.
