Corporate History

Ameresco was founded in 2000 as a cleantech integrator and renewable energy asset developer, owner, and operator. Since its initial public offering in 2010, Ameresco's renewable energy assets and customer projects have delivered a cumulative carbon offset equivalent to over 110 million metric tons of carbon dioxide. The company's long-term goal is to reduce its customers' carbon footprints by a cumulative 500 million metric tons by 2050.
