ARH offers a comprehensive range of medical services, including addiction recovery, bariatric surgery, behavioral health, cancer care, cardiac and pulmonary rehab, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, hematology, home health, infectious disease, interventional pain, nephrology, neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics, pharmacy, physical medicine and rehabilitation, podiatry, primary care, pulmonology, radiation oncology, radiology, rehabilitation, senior care, sleep labs, urology, vascular surgery, women's health, and wound care. In addition, ARH provides home health services, home medical equipment, retail pharmacies, and medical spas.
Network of Hospitals and Providers
ARH operates 14 hospitals across Kentucky and West Virginia. Each hospital is equipped to administer IV thrombolytics for stroke. The network is supported by more than 1,300 providers and employs around 6,700 people. ARH has an annual payroll and benefits totaling $474 million. In southeastern Kentucky, ARH is the largest provider of care and the single largest employer, while it is the third-largest private employer in southern West Virginia.
Specialized Departments
ARH features specialized teams and departments to cater to specific medical needs. The ARH Neurology team includes specialists and nurses experienced in assessing, diagnosing, and managing brain, spinal cord, and nerve disorders. The ARH Cardiology department offers a range of services, including cardiovascular imaging, electrophysiology, interventional and invasive cardiology, general cardiology (non-invasive), and vascular surgery. ARH Advanced Care provides long-term acute care services.
Community Initiatives and Support
The ARH Foundation plays a pivotal role in supporting healthcare, education, and community involvement through various philanthropic and fundraising initiatives. ARH conducts a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) in each of its hospital communities to identify and address local health needs. Additionally, ARH offers a variety of volunteer opportunities across its facilities, encouraging community engagement and support.
