About Stephen Barrack
I enjoy making big combos and fast reactions look easy as a gamer. A hat that says, “he was number one,” doesn’t exactly make me a super-hero though. I thrive on situations that allow me to be innovative while making it seem effortless. When a bug in our accounting software failed to process certain orders, I quickly wrote a script to fix them. That script continues to fix a dozen orders in the haystack each day, saving customer service an hour-long call with each customer who did not get their package. Years of practice and self-discipline as a musician has taught me the joy that lies in producing something which everyone wants to listen to. For that reason, I helped lead my high school drum line to be top ten in the American Drum Line Association Western Division for the first time. The same principle applies to writing code or operating computers. I am happy knowing others can use my programs to ease their frustration with modern inconveniences. I get more joy out of being Clark Kent than Superman. Though I do not wear the hat, I can go home knowing I saved the day once again. After all, geeks can be mild mannered. How will you save the day?
