STEM Programs
The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation operates 502 fully functional STEM programs in 23 states and Washington, D.C., reaching over 212,000 children with the aid of more than 11,000 teachers, educators, and mentors. The Foundation's efforts have led to the establishment of 519 STEM Centers across 24 states, impacting the learning experiences of over 223,000 kids.
Collaborations and Partnerships
In the 2023-24 period, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation worked with 824 local youth-serving partners and law enforcement agencies across 331 cities and towns in 43 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These collaborations impacted over 1.4 million at-risk youth through various programs and initiatives.
Key Programs and Initiatives
The Foundation's significant programs include the Badges for Baseball crime prevention and mentoring initiative, which impacted 30,289 kids in 122 communities in 2023. Another major initiative is the Healthy Lifestyles program, designed with fitness and nutrition curricula, impacting over 13,000 youth at 46 program sites with the help of over 460 mentors.
Youth Development Parks
The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation has successfully built 119 Youth Development Parks in 27 states. These parks serve as essential recreational spaces for youth, providing safe environments for various physical activities and community events.
Summer Camp
The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation's Summer Camp is an all-expense-paid weeklong retreat for outstanding young individuals from across the country. The camp features various activities, including swimming, rock climbing, and ziplining, providing a memorable experience for the participants.
