Campus Energy operates natural gas and helium transmission systems in northern and southern Alberta, as well as natural gas processing facilities in Saskatchewan. Additionally, they run the Southern Alberta Helium Pipeline System and the Loverna Gas Plant, which provides natural gas gathering and processing services for Saskatchewan producers.

Cold Lake Transmission Pipeline System

The Cold Lake transmission pipeline system, located in east central Alberta approximately 250 km east of Edmonton, is an integral part of Campus Energy's operations. It interconnects with TransCanada’s NGTL and TransGas’s systems, and serves a variety of clients including heavy oil projects and utilities. This pipeline system has a design capacity of 100 MMcf/d and has undergone multiple expansions in the years 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2018 to enhance its capabilities.

Suffield Transmission Pipeline System

The Suffield transmission pipeline system is located in southeast Alberta and plays a critical role in transporting natural gas. It connects to TransCanada’s mainline at Burstall, Saskatchewan, with two pipelines that have a combined design capacity of 400 MMcf per day. This system is crucial for ensuring a steady flow of natural gas throughout the region.

Emergency Response and Safety Protocols

Campus Energy prioritizes safety and has comprehensive Emergency Response Plans (ERP) in place, adhering to regulatory requirements such as the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) Directive 071 and the B.C. Oil & Gas Commission “Emergency Management Manual.” The company follows the Incident Command System (ICS) for emergency management and provides Public Awareness Information Packages (PAIP) to local residents and stakeholders. They conduct regular emergency response exercises and training with external organizations to ensure preparedness.

Commitment to Environmental Stewardship

Campus Energy is committed to environmental stewardship and employs sound environmental practices for sustainable operations. They require written consent for activities on pipeline rights-of-way to protect the environment, such as operating vehicles or equipment over these areas. The company also undertakes Hazard Risk Vulnerability and Criticality Assessments to identify and manage potential hazards, ensuring the safety of their operations and minimizing environmental impact.
