CeQur Simplicity is a unique patch designed to deliver injection-free mealtime insulin. The patch uses a tiny, flexible cannula to administer rapid-acting insulin under the skin. It aims to eliminate the need for multiple daily injections, offering on-demand, one-click dosing for both mealtime insulin and bolus correction. The patch can stay in place for up to three days irrespective of the user's activity level, is water-resistant, and accommodates activities such as exercising, bathing, and swimming.
Usage and Benefits
CeQur Simplicity is intended for adults over the age of 21 diagnosed with diabetes. It is suitable for use with U-100 insulins, specifically Humalog® or NovoLog®. Users have reported a significant increase in their Time-in-Range (TIR) by 50% after 24 weeks, and a reduction in A1C levels by an average of 1.7% within the same period. The patch holds up to 200 units of rapid-acting insulin and requires a minimum fill of 100 units. CeQur Simplicity is also covered as a pharmacy benefit by most Commercial and Medicare Part D plans.
Durability and Maintenance
The CeQur Simplicity patch is designed to stay adhered for up to three days and is durable enough to withstand normal daily activities, including showering, swimming, sleeping, and exercising. The Inserter is reusable and should not be disposed of after a single use. The patches should be stored in a dry, cool place with temperature settings ranging from 50 to 77°F (10 to 25°C). Despite not tracking insulin doses currently, the efficacy of CeQur Simplicity is notable in maintaining optimal insulin levels.
