Services
The Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center offers family-centered, comprehensive prevention, intervention, and treatment services for children and youth with special health care needs. Key services include Early Steps, Comprehensive Family AIDS Program, Research, Primary Care Clinic, Extraordinary Children, Healthy Outcomes (ECHO), Lift a Child to Health / TAFT, Dental Clinic, Outpatient Pharmacy, and Pediatric Telephone Triage.
Programs and Clinics
The Early Steps program provides multidisciplinary evaluations for infants and toddlers at risk for developmental disabilities. The Primary Care Clinic delivers family-centered healthcare for children with chronic conditions. The Comprehensive Family AIDS Program supports those affected by HIV/AIDS. The Dental Clinic offers a range of dental services. The Lift a Child to Health (LCH) program and Transitioning Adolescents Forward Into Tomorrow (TAFT) assist families in navigating healthcare systems.
Community Support Initiatives
The Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center engages in several community support initiatives including the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade, which provides meals to over 1,200 families, and the Holiday Toy Shop, which distributes gifts to children with special needs. Additionally, CDTC Transformers and cdtc Sunflowers are groups that support the organization through financial contributions and volunteer efforts, respectively.
Pediatric Clinical Trials
The Research Program at the Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center is one of only three non-university sites in the United States for pediatric clinical trials funded by the National Institutes of Health. This program is at the forefront of pediatric clinical research, contributing valuable data and insights that influence nationwide standards and treatments.
Patient-Centered Medical Home Model
Recognized as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, the Center incorporates this model in all its programs. The Pediatric Primary Care Clinic and the Adult Clinic provide medical care that emphasizes comprehensive, family-centered, and coordinated care. The Pediatric Telephone Triage service allows families to address concerns through direct communication with knowledgeable medical professionals.
