CleanCapital now holds a diverse portfolio of more than 230 solar projects amounting to over 460 MW of solar energy.
Solar Energy Projects
As of 2022, CleanCapital has produced over 200 GWh of emissions-free energy. The company has successfully acquired and managed solar projects in 27 states and U.S. territories. CleanCapital focuses on distributed generation solar and storage while also investing in early-stage development. Examples of major acquisitions include a 36.6 MW solar facility in Guam and a 34.5 MW portfolio in New Jersey in 2023, among others.
Howard County Maryland Solar Portfolio
In 2022, CleanCapital secured $71.4 million in tax equity and debt financing for its Howard County, Maryland solar portfolio. This portfolio is set to meet at least 60% of the County government's electricity needs. It has a greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing nearly 7,000 cars from the road and is projected to offer a cost benefit of more than $1.5 million over the next 25 years.
Acquisition of BQ Energy
CleanCapital acquired BQ Energy in 2022. BQ Energy is known for its expertise in developing renewable energy on landfills and brownfield sites. This acquisition aligns with CleanCapital’s focus on solar and storage projects on such lands and bolsters its capabilities and portfolio in the renewable energy sector.
