The Ottawa facility, operational since 2010, has a capacity of 100,000 tons per year. The London facility was the first plant in Canada, processing kitchen waste and diapers collected in plastic bags.
Technologies and Innovations
Convertus offers advanced technologies such as Odour Abatement, Heat Harvest, Composting & Biodrying, and Anaerobic Digestion & Biogas. Developed in-house, the Heat Harvest technology captures and utilizes bio-energy from composting processes. Anaerobic digestion is used to convert organic waste into renewable natural gas and compost. In addition, Convertus provides odour abatement solutions, minimizing odours for local communities and enhancing the environment.

Convertus also offers turnkey design and build projects for mechanical and biological treatment facilities. By providing expert support for all organic waste management solutions, Convertus aims to maximize outputs and minimize expenditures.
Partnerships and Expansions
In 2019, Convertus was created by the merger of Renewi Canada and Waste Treatment Technologies North America. This union enhanced its capabilities in high-tech waste solutions. In 2022, Envirem Organics joined the Convertus Group, making it the largest processor of organic waste in Canada. These partnerships and continuous expansions have enabled Convertus to operate facilities for some of North America's largest municipalities and commercial businesses, furthering its mission of sustainability.
