Services
Detroit Phoenix Center offers a wide range of services aimed at supporting youth transitioning out of homelessness and poverty. The center provides emergency crisis housing, mental health and wellness support, education and employment assistance, and youth leadership and activism programs. Their daily drop-in center for young adults includes access to showers, washer/dryer, food pantry, computer lab, day beds, hygiene products, and life skills classes. They also offer career readiness workshops, transportation assistance, and monthly youth and family engagement outings.
Programs
The Detroit Phoenix Center runs several programs to support youth. The Zen Zone drop-in center offers essential services like showers, meals, laundry, and career readiness workshops. The After-School Enrichment Program, SOAR, is available for students in grades 8-12 who are McKinney Vento eligible. The Youth Leadership program includes the Young Change Makers Fellowship, a 10-month program focused on developing leadership and advocacy skills.
