Farmer's Fridge provides fresh, convenient meals through refrigerated vending machines known as Fridges. These machines are stocked with meals made from scratch using whole, fresh ingredients. The Fridges are available in various public locations including airports, hospitals, office buildings, and universities. Meals are produced in a temperature-controlled environment and include a full serving of fruits or vegetables. Each fridge is equipped with built-in thermometers that scan the temperature every 5 minutes to ensure product safety. Customers can safely and securely checkout using a credit card directly at the machine.
History
Farmer's Fridge was founded in 2013 with a single vending machine. Since then, it has expanded significantly and now operates over 1,200 Fridges nationwide. The company has served more than 11 million meals to over 2 million customers. Initially offering home delivery, this service was retired in December 2022 to concentrate on expanding Fridge locations. The company remains committed to reducing domestic hunger through its partnership with Feeding America®.
Production Facility
Farmer's Fridge operates a 50,000-square-foot production facility where all meals are handcrafted. The facility uses a proprietary stocking algorithm to minimize food waste and ensure that Fridges are stocked based on customer preferences at each location. Meals are prepared in a kitchen that handles various allergens, including peanuts, wheat, milk, tree nuts, shellfish, fish, egg, soy, and sesame.
Sustainability
Farmer's Fridge is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The jars used for packaging are 100% recyclable and BPA-free. The Fridges feature jar recycling slots to encourage customers to recycle packaging. Additionally, the company employs a proprietary stocking algorithm to minimize food waste, ensuring that only fresh meals are available for purchase.
Rewards Program
Farmer's Fridge offers a rewards program called Farmer’s Fridge Rewards, where customers can earn 'Greens' for their purchases. These Greens can be accumulated and redeemed for future discounts or promotions, enhancing the customer experience and promoting customer loyalty.
