FoodCorps Services

FoodCorps service members teach kids to grow, cook, and love nourishing foods that celebrate their cultures and communities. Their programming includes hands-on food education, nourishing school meals, and advancing equity through food. Service members lead hands-on lessons, influence nourishing school meals, and build a culture of health in schools.

Nourishing Futures Initiative

FoodCorps' Nourishing Futures initiative aims to ensure all 50 million students learn about food and have access to nourishing, free meals in school by 2030. Their service members and staff strive to make sure that the entire school environment celebrates nourishing food, helping students eat more fruits and vegetables and develop a love for food through hands-on nutrition lessons.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

FoodCorps has a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, as evidenced by their annual EDI report. They support leaders of color working in school nutrition through their FOLCS network (Food Operators & Leaders of Color in Schools) and collaborate with organizations like the African American Mayors Association (AAMA) to build a movement for food justice.

Policy and Advocacy

FoodCorps' policy and advocacy work aims to create a more just school food system for all kids. They engage in various policy efforts to ensure equitable access to food education and nourishing meals in schools.
