Funcom was founded in 1993, marking its presence in the gaming industry for over three decades. In 2005, Funcom became a publicly traded company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The company underwent a significant change when it was acquired by Tencent in July 2020. Throughout its history, Funcom has developed over 25 games, catering to various genres and platforms.

Funcom is headquartered in Oslo, Norway, and operates multiple studios globally. These include locations in North Carolina, Lisbon, Bucharest, and Stockholm. The North Carolina studio is situated 20 minutes from Raleigh, while the Lisbon studio is in Portugal’s sunny capital. The Bucharest studio serves as the company's headquarters for quality assurance. The Stockholm studio is known as The Outsiders – a Funcom Studio.

Funcom has developed a diverse range of games including industry-recognized titles such as ‘Dune: Awakening,’ ‘Conan Exiles,’ ‘Secret World Legends,’ ‘Metal: Hellsinger,’ and ‘Mutant Year Zero.’ Notably, ‘The Longest Journey’ is one of their most acclaimed point-and-click adventure games. The survival RTS game ‘Conan Unconquered’ is set in the world of Conan the Barbarian, while ‘Moons of Madness’ explores cosmic horror in a first-person narrative-driven experience.
Game Updates and Releases
