Internships

Genesys Works arranges for students to participate in paid, year-long internships with major corporations during their senior year of high school. These internships allow students to work up to 20 hours per week at a competitive rate of $14 per hour. By engaging in meaningful work experiences, students can develop valuable professional skills and build impactful relationships. Genesys Works has partnered with over 200 companies in seven cities across the country to provide these opportunities.

Expansion Plans

Genesys Works plans to expand to Jacksonville, Florida in 2025. This planned expansion is supported by a $250,000 grant from Comcast. Partnerships with Duval County Public Schools and local employers will be crucial in setting up this extension. Furthermore, the organization aims to double the number of sites from seven to fourteen and nearly triple the number of students served by 2028, as part of their strategic growth plan backed by a $7 million grant from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott.

Impact and Success Metrics

Genesys Works has a proven impact on its students, their families, and communities, showcased by serving over 11,000 students to date. More than 90% of participants enroll in college, and six years after high school, alumni earn a median income of $60,000 per year. The model also demonstrates a significant economic impact, with every $1 invested leading to a $13.46 return. Alumni are three times more likely to graduate with a bachelor's degree than their peers from similar communities.
