Services
Grail Family Services collaborates with families, schools, and communities to foster children’s success and well-being through numerous programs and initiatives. They provide professional development for teachers and childcare providers, enhancing family engagement, early literacy, and early math skills. Programs are offered in both English and Spanish to support families with children aged 0-6. Key programs include NuParent, Hablemos Juntos, Eastside Cares, Child Enrichment, State-funded Preschool, Family Math, Yes We Can...Read!, as well as ESL, Parent Support Group, Family Resource Center, and Case Management services.
Collaborative Initiatives
Grail Family Services engages in collaborative efforts to support community well-being and promote equity. They work with the Sí Se Puede Collective to coordinate service delivery and enhance access to basic needs, education, arts and culture, community development, and food and environmental equity. The collective's integrated approach helps address the financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and lifts parent voices to advocate for community-responsive changes.
Innovative Programs
Grail Family Services offers innovative programs focused on early childhood development and parental support. The Building Blocks of Parenting™ (BBP) App, available in English and Spanish for free, helps parents and caregivers support their children’s early development. The app has 1387 users and addresses critical developmental years. Their “Jobs to Grow” program has also graduated 23 childcare providers and 17 food entrepreneurs, contributing to community recovery post-COVID-19.
Community Engagement
Grail Family Services is deeply rooted in East San José, emphasizing equitable partnerships between parents and educators. They promote and advocate for beneficial policies by lifting the collective voice of families in the region. Their family engagement model has trained over 600 childcare providers and teachers. Their workshops have enabled 88% of participating parents to increase supportive activities at home, crucial for child development.
