History
Guayaki Yerba Mate's first ready-to-drink yerba mate was inspired by 'tereré,' the national drink of Paraguay. The company became a B Corp in 2007 and was recognized by B Lab as a ‘Best for the Environment’ company. In 2009, Guayaki was the first in the world to offer fair trade certified yerba mate according to the Fair for Life standard. It launched its self-distribution company, Yerba Mate Co., in 2016. In 2017, the Ambacebador program was launched to connect yerba mate fans globally. Guayaki also has a strong partnership with the Aché Kue Tuvy community to preserve the Atlantic Rainforest.
