Neonatal and Child Health Units

Hamilton Health Sciences is home to Canada's largest neonatal intensive care unit and Ontario's largest inpatient child and youth mental health unit. Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre focuses on outpatient services related to child rehabilitation, as well as developmental, behavioral, and mental health needs. McMaster Children’s Hospital has the fastest-growing emergency department exclusively for children in Ontario.

Hamilton Health Sciences offers a comprehensive employee wellness program known as Shine (Supporting Health IN Everyone). The organization also provides a variety of educational funding opportunities for both clinical and non-clinical staff. Healthcare Innovations

Hamilton Health Sciences hosts the Simulation, Resuscitation, and Outreach Center (SiROC), which supports excellence in simulation-based education and research. The Extensive Needs Service program launched in 2023 connects children and youth with extensive needs to individualized and integrated care, serving over 1,200 children across multiple hospitals.

The West End Clinic/Urgent Care Centre provides walk-in medical care for urgent health concerns, and the Satellite Health Facility expanded healthcare capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
