Services
HAP provides a range of culturally competent programs through its various initiatives such as HAP Academy OIC, Economic Prosperity, Community Impact, and Social Enterprise. It offers customized job skills training for both adults and youth, along with small business loans, microloans, business education, and technical assistance to low-income immigrant and refugee entrepreneurs. Wealth management services are also available, including financial literacy, business and savings plans, and matched savings accounts. Additionally, HAP runs empowerment services focusing on chemical health, mental health, and well-being.
Community Initiatives
HAP serves nearly 30,000 individuals annually, offering numerous community-oriented programs. This includes the Local Emergency Assistance Farmer Fund (LEAFF) to support small-scale farmers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and partnerships with the Minnesota Department of Health for COVID-19 community coordination, including testing and resource connections. HAP also conducts Career Success classes that cover resume writing, interview tips, and job-seeking resources, and provides navigation and access services such as health insurance and SNAP enrollment.
Business Development
HAP offers comprehensive business development services aimed at supporting low-income immigrant and refugee entrepreneurs. Services include providing small business and microloans, business education, and technical assistance. The 'Pay It Forward' program further supports local businesses with financial and business assistance. These initiatives aim to foster economic growth and help entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses in their communities.
Educational Services
HAP collaborates with the Community School of Excellence to provide educational services through out-of-school time activities. These initiatives are designed to support youth in their academic and personal development, offering a variety of programs that cater to diverse learning needs and interests. The educational services aim to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge for future success.
Employment Services
HAP offers employment services through the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP). These services aim to support individuals in securing employment, with a focus on providing the necessary resources and training required for job placement. HAP's employment services include job skills training, career success classes, and personalized assistance to help job seekers navigate the employment landscape effectively.
