Education and Legal Training
Manmohan completed his schooling at Modern School, Barakhamba Road in Delhi. He obtained a B.A. (Hons.) in History from Hindu College, University of Delhi. His legal education was furthered at the Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, where he received his LL.B. in 1987. Upon graduation, he enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi the same year.
Legal Career and Practice
Upon enrolling as an Advocate in 1987, Manmohan built a distinguished legal practice in the Supreme Court of India and High Court of Delhi. He handled significant cases in a diversity of domains. Notably, he served as Senior Panel Advocate for the Government of India and was designated as a Senior Advocate by the High Court of Delhi on January 18, 2003. His high-profile cases included the Dabhol Power Company, Hyderabad Nizam’s Jewellery Trust, Claridges Hotel dispute, Modi family disputes, Gujarat Ambuja Cement’s sales tax issues, and Fatehpur Sikri encroachment matters.
Judicial Appointments
Manmohan's judicial career advanced as he was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Delhi on March 13, 2008. Subsequently, he was promoted to Permanent Judge on December 17, 2009. His elevation to these esteemed positions is a testament to his professional legal expertise and dedication to the judiciary.
