Services

Fleet
IndyGo operates a fleet of 232 buses, consisting of 132 diesel buses, 41 hybrid buses, and 59 electric buses. The fleet supports the extensive fixed route service as well as the specialized BRT lines. The buses are equipped with advanced features to enhance passenger comfort and route efficiency. Efforts are ongoing to incorporate more electric buses into the fleet, contributing to sustainability goals and reducing emissions.
Adopt-A-Stop Program
IndyGo's Adopt-A-Stop program engages the community in maintaining transit stops. Businesses, community groups, and individuals can adopt a trash bin at a bus stop and commit to regular litter collection and bin emptying. This initiative helps keep transit stops clean and enhances the overall rider experience. By involving the community, IndyGo fosters a sense of ownership and civic responsibility among Indianapolis residents.
Special Programs and Initiatives
IndyGo runs several special programs including 'Wellness in Transit,' launched in May 2022, which provides free healthcare services via a mobile medical clinic. 'Music in Transit' is an award-winning concert series featuring local musicians. 'Food in Transit' offers fresh produce through a partnership with Growing Places Indy and HUD. BRT System
IndyGo's BRT system includes the Red Line, Purple Line, and Blue Line, geared towards providing rapid and efficient transportation. The Red Line, launched in 2019, runs 13 miles through Indianapolis. The Purple Line, set for a 2024 launch, will extend 15.2 miles connecting Indianapolis and Lawrence. The Blue Line, scheduled for 2027, will cover Washington Street between Cumberland and the Airport. These lines are backed by significant infrastructure improvements, including new station designs and enhanced safety features.
