Regional Operations
ITC Holdings operates across various regions with specific entities managing their operations. ITC Midwest, responsible for over 6,600 circuit miles in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Missouri, has notably reduced electric transmission outages by 77% since 2007. ITC Michigan, which manages more than 8,700 circuit miles and 367 substations, has invested $7 billion to improve the state’s power grid. ITC Great Plains collaborates with stakeholders to deliver reliable electricity in Kansas and Oklahoma.
Environmental Stewardship
ITC Holdings is committed to environmental stewardship through initiatives like its ISO-14,001-based environmental management system. It has installed over 1,000 yellow-coiled bird diverters along transmission lines in Michigan’s Crow Island State Game Area and enrolled 98,000 acres in six states to protect the monarch butterfly habitat. Further, ITC has integrated rain gardens at two warehouses in Iowa and Michigan to manage stormwater runoff and installed battery-operated Jobsite Energy Management System (JEMS) units to eliminate the need to idle trucks at job sites.
Infrastructure Investments
ITC Holdings has made significant investments in infrastructure improvement. The company has invested $5 billion in the regional power grid since 2007, including $588 million in the Great Plains since 2009. These investments are aimed at enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the electricity transmission network. ITC Holdings also announced the pricing of $400 million senior notes due in 2034, underscoring its commitment to ongoing infrastructure development.
Community Contributions
Beyond infrastructure and environmental efforts, ITC Holdings has contributed to community welfare. ITC has recycled 11,000 pounds of copper from overhead line conductors and donated it to Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit.
