History
Kamloop Foods was founded in 1981 with the mission to help people cope with the significant impact of high inflation rates. The organization has a long-standing commitment to community support and food distribution. In 2013, Kamloop Foods underwent a substantial building renovation and expansion to better serve its growing clientele and improve its operational capacity.
Programs and Initiatives
Kamloop Foods runs several key programs to support the community. The foodSHARE program has successfully diverted over 18 million pounds of perishable food from landfills. The Starfish Backpack Program provides nutritious food to 190 local school children for the weekend. The Baby Bank program focuses on supplying infant essentials such as formula and diapers. Each year, the organization hosts the Basics for Babies event to bolster support for the Baby Bank program.
