KlimaTicket Ö Pricing
The KlimaTicket Ö provides a comprehensive transportation solution across Austria for a year. The standard price is €1,095. Reduced prices of €821 are available for travelers aged 25 or younger, 65 or older, and disabled travelers. The KlimaTicket Ö Family option allows a ticket holder to include up to four children aged six to 15 for an additional fee of €110 per year. For young adults, the KlimaTicket Ö 18 is a free ticket available on their 18th birthday, valid for three years from issuance.
KlimaTicket Purchasing Options
The KlimaTicket Ö can be purchased online or at service centers of distribution partners. Tickets can be bought up to one month in advance and are valid for a whole year from the chosen date of activation. The ticket is available in both physical and digital formats. The digital version is non-transferable and must be shown with an official photo ID. The KlimaTicket Ö 18 is only available at KlimaTicket Ö sales and service points, excluding Wiener Linien for now.
Usage and Validity of KlimaTicket Ö
The KlimaTicket Ö grants access to all public and private rail, city, and public transport services across Austria. It can be used on Nightjet trains within Austria without an additional ticket, except for seat reservations in day coaches, couchettes, or sleeper cabins which incur an extra fee. Certain regional exceptions apply, and users can check the validity on a provided map. The KlimaTicket Ö can also be displayed digitally in apps of various transportation services like ÖBB, WESTbahn, and Wiener Linien.
KlimaTicket Ö Renewal and Payment Options
Renewing a KlimaTicket Ö is convenient, with options to do so online, by payment slip, or at service points. Users can choose between a SEPA direct debit mandate for monthly installments without a surcharge or a one-time full payment. Special packages for seat reservations or first-class upgrades are available through partner railway companies. Discounts for international travel that starts or ends in Austria are also included.
KlimaTicket Ö and Environmental Goals
The KlimaTicket Ö is part of Austria's broader initiative to modernize and expand its public transport infrastructure. The ticket supports the Paris climate targets by promoting public transport as a climate-friendly alternative to motorized individual transport. It includes compensation rights for delays or cancellations according to EU Regulation No. 1371/2007 and the Railway Transportation and Passenger Rights Act.
