History

Kraton has a rich history of innovation, beginning with the invention of the first commercially viable styrenic block copolymers (SBC) in 1955. They launched Kraton™ D polymers in leisure shoes in 1964 and built their first dedicated block copolymer plant in Belpre, Ohio, in 1971. The company became publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol KRA in 2009. In 2016, Kraton acquired Arizona Chemical, and in 2022, it became part of DL Chemical.

Sustainability Initiatives

Kraton has a strong commitment to sustainability, earning an EcoVadis Platinum Level Sustainability Rating for 2023. The company offers 157 USDA BioPreferred products, with 50% of its business grounded in biobased materials. They have also received ISCC PLUS certification for their manufacturing facility in Belpre, Ohio.
