Services
The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) offers a range of services tailored to the Latino community in Minnesota. These include Business Development, Agriculture, Lending, and Employment and Training. The Business Development program assists Latino entrepreneurs in starting and growing their businesses through various tools and know-how. The Lending program provides capital and guidance for Latino entrepreneurs in the Twin Cities. The Agriculture program supports Latino farmers with technical assistance, business development, access to capital, and certification services. The Employment and Training program serves as a hub for Spanish-language adult education in Minneapolis and St. Paul, offering business classes, customer service training, and food safety certification.
Strategic Initiatives
LEDC has several strategic initiatives aimed at supporting Latino businesses and communities. The Taco Tour on Lake Street promotes small Latino- and immigrant-owned businesses through a fun event featuring tacos. The Latino Scholarship Fund helps talented Latino students pursue postsecondary education. The Plaza del Sol, a cultural mall acquired by LEDC in August 2020, supports existing Latino-owned businesses. The East Side Enterprise Center (ESEC) boosts economic capacity by developing businesses in East Side St Paul. Lastly, the Elevate Hennepin initiative provides no-cost business consulting and resources to businesses in Hennepin County.
COVID-19 Resources
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, LEDC has provided resources and materials in both English and Spanish to support the Latino community. These efforts are part of their broader mission to assist Latino entrepreneurs and residents in navigating the economic challenges posed by the pandemic.
Lending

LEDC's lending services are designed to help Latino entrepreneurs in the Twin Cities access the financial resources they need. LEDC offers loans with interest rates ranging from 3% to 12% and terms generally between three to five years. These services include business development coaching and access to capital, aiming to foster the growth of Latino-owned businesses within the community.
Agriculture Program
LEDC's Agriculture program supports Latino farmers in Minnesota by providing technical assistance, business development, access to capital, and market opportunities. The program also helps farmers obtain Organic and GAP certifications. This initiative is designed to cultivate a thriving agricultural community, promote financial freedom, and foster respect and pride among Latino farmers for future generations.
