Impact of Metro United Way’s United Community Platform
The United Community platform, a key initiative of Metro United Way, connects more than 500 social service, government, and healthcare providers. Since its inception, the platform has served over 17,000 individuals and facilitated more than 32,000 referrals. Efficiency improvements include a 10.8-day decrease in intake and client referral time and a 4.6-day reduction in making meaningful connections. Overall, the platform has reduced referral closure times by 29.4 days.
Metro United Way’s Financial Coaching Programs
Metro United Way's financial coaching partners have substantially impacted the community by assisting 171 individuals in achieving their financial goals. Specific outcomes include 14 participants increasing annual incomes by an average of $7,400, 52 individuals boosting their savings by $678, and 30 people enhancing their credit scores by 16 points. Additionally, the program helped 40 participants reduce their debt by $1,915 on average.
Metro United Way's Little Free Library Program
The Little Free Library program is a notable initiative by Metro United Way that has contributed significantly to community literacy. Over ten years, the program has distributed 257,282 books without purchasing any. Each library in the network is replenished every two weeks with approximately 45 books, reflecting the program's efficiency and community support in maintaining resources for public use.
